Questions and Answers About Longarm Quilting

Is your longarm quilting machine run by a computer?

I use a Nolting Longarm Quilting machine that is not attached to a computer. All of my stitiching is done by freehand motion. I use some stencils and rulers to achieve the best look for each top.

Do I need to pin or baste my quilt?

No. Each layer is loaded individually. Just send your neatly pressed and folded top and back to me and I will take it from there.

How do I get my materials to you?

You can send your top and back by UPSP, UPS, FedEx or HDL. Put your top and back inside a clear plastic bag and enclose it in a sturdy shipping box. The same box will be used to return your completed quilt. Make sure to include my address and your return address inside the plastic bag as well as on the outside of the box.

What do you do when you get my quilt and backing?

When your package arrives at my studio I will carefully open and catalog the contents. Your top will be measured and checked for any loose threads or seams. I will look over your order form to see if you have any special requests. Then I will contact you by email to confirm its arrival, make any suggestions as to the design of the quilting and thread choices. After we have settled on a quilting “blueprint” I will email you the final order form with the total charges and an estimated completion date for you to approve, sign and return to me so I can begin work on your top.

How do I pay you for your longarm quilting services?

When your quilt is completed I will email you a notice and photo of your completed quilt. You can send me a check or money order for the invoice total, including return shipping. I reserve the right to wait for the checks to clear the bank before sending the quilt to you.
